Before anyone asks, I don’t know why my site’s been down so much for the past week either. I’ve put a query in to my web hosting service, but they seem more interested in trying to convince you that your customer service requests are being answered by some hottie wearing a humongous 1990s-style hands-free headset than in making it easy to figure out how to send them a query. Hooray for cheap stock photography! Hopefully the issue will resolve itself soon.
Because I know you people have been missing out on the baby-and-kitty pics, so I now present: Once Upon An Obi!
Evan spoke his first almost-a-word this week: “Uh-BEEEEEE! Oh-BEEEEEEE!” You can imagine who came running, wide-eyed, at the very thought that he had been summoned by his little friend.
Not that Evan minded Obi coming to see him. If it were possible for these two to be paying any more rapt attention to each other, I’m not sure how.
And Evan loves to pet his kitty – he’s really got the hang of it now – as much as his kitty loves to rub on him, so something tells me we’re in good shape on the respect-for-the-animal-kingdom front.
We tried to start feeding Evan some rice cereal for babies this week…no go. We’re not quite ready to start leaving the bottle behind, apparently. Not that this stops him from trying to reach out and grab whatever we’re eating or drinking, mind you. Yep, I’m gonna skip baby food and go straight to diet root beer, Dad!
There, I finally registered so I can leave comments. I wanted to tell you that I haven’t been able to see ANY of your posted photos for WEEKS! Not here, not on Livejournal, not on DP. And I can’t figure out why!

I do have most of the really good stuff on my Myspace as well. I forget if you’re on my friend list there or not – I have it closed down to everyone who I don’t personally let in the door, and I’m really bad about remembering who all’s on my friends list. (On the upside, that’s a pretty effective deterrent against me ever talking trash about anyone there. 😆 )

You were right, Earl! I checked Firefox, and for some reason, logbook.com was blocked from loading images!

And believe it or not, I predicted that Evan’s first word would be either “Obi” or “kitty”, a few months back. Before he came along, I spent most of my waking hours in the company of cats, so I figure it’s in the genes. 😛
It’s that Anti-cute baby software that Firefox installed with one of their recent releases. I noticed it last year when Evan was a newborn. I only wish Firefox could block some of the mental images this Blog sometimes produces (Earl in underwear being the one that gives me nightmares).
