A random logbook thought

I’ve been meaning to ask this question to the Livejournal readers out there for a while, but keep forgetting to ask.
I’ve been thinking about setting things up so that theLogBook.com’s “front page” is posted to my LJ blog automagically, sorta like Scribblings is currently. I look at it as a way of extending the site’s reach just a bit, and maybe showing off some of the cool stuff we have here every week. This would just be the front page menu, not every single review or episode guide listing from each week’s update.
On the other hand, I don’t want to be spammy. I don’t want anyone to feel like I’m spamming their LJ friend pages.
What do you think? Feel free to be brutally honest.

Your cats are ugly and your feet smell? πŸ™‚ (Well, you did say brutally honest.)
Seriously, I think if you keep theLogBook entries down to once a day it won’t be overly spammy. Even a couple in one day is fine as long as you don’t do that everyday. Oher then that I don’t know if I have an opinion on it until I see it show up on my friend’s page.
OK. I recant my earlier statement. I wasn’t being brutally honest, just mean. Your cats aren’t ugly.

Once a day?…no no no…it’d be once a week, updated sometime on Monday. I remember once upon a time when I did update the site daily. I was single then. Exceedingly and obviously so. πŸ˜†
For an example of the weekly update, well, believe it or not, it’s what’s on the front page of thelogbook.com.

As a LJ reader, I must confess I do not visit the logbook as often as I would like so I would love some info to be posted weekly or even more often if there is news

I’m afraid that I do not visit the Logbook nearly as often as I would like, outside of the Scribblings pages. Therefore, I wouldn’t mind a daily or weekly front page update on LJ at all. Once a day/week != spammy.

In any event, it turns out that it may not be worth all this fuss anyway: the theme I have on the main page doesn’t play nice with either of the existing WordPress-to-LJ crosspost plugins. It’d be easy for me to just cut and paste the raw code over to LJ, but I haven’t decided if I’m ready to commit to doing One More Thing when update time comes – I liken each update to the Logbook print ‘zine (1994-95ish), which was six pages long. Only instead of quarterly/monthly/bi-monthly, we do it every week, minus the ritual sacrifice of a toner cartridge and a ream of paper. πŸ˜†
