Very late in 1998, Exclusive Premiere released a long-awaited second wave of Babylon 5 characters by popular demand. In many toy stores, the first wave of figures were still warming the shelves, and were discounted from their lofty $8.00 price tag to around $3.00 each. B5 fans were eagerly picking up the figures, but the cold consumer reality of it was that it seemed like they were the only ones doing so.
This time, only Ivanova’s legs were articulated, and Marcus’ right hand was permanently molded into a fist (despite the character’s tendency to use more martial-arts-like moves in the series). Kosh’s only moving feature was his head, and the Vorlon’s paint job was disappointing when compared to the very elaborate and accurate detail work seen in the product photos on the back of the blister cards.
A minor paint variation of the Kosh figure was sold as a somewhat rare variant on a “Vorlon Visitor” blister card, despite the fact that no such character had appeared on the show in the same costume as Kosh. No action figure of Kosh’s successor – known in at least one of the novels as Ulkesh, and known to many fans by the nickname given to it by the production team, “Kosh Vader” – was ever produced.
