Seven Minutes To Midnight

HeroesMohinder Suresh returns to India to scatter his father’s ashes, with no intention of returning to America to continue his research. Despite more tantalizing clues into his father’s work at home, he wants to resume his normal life. Even then, painful revelations surface when Mohinder’s mother reveals that he had a sister with special abilities, who died before Mohinder was born. In L.A., Parkman is once again dragged into FBI work, helping his Bureau contact interrogate Ted Sprague, who is facing charges of possessing radioactive material and a handover to the Department of Homeland Security. Parkman is more interested in Sprague’s story of how he came to have his powers – a story that parallels Parkman’s own experiences with his mind-reading ability – but he’s pulled off the case when the LAPD suspends him for assaulting his former partner (after Parkman overhead a stray thought that revealed his wife was having an affair with his fellow officer). In a diner in a small Texas town, Hiro meets a waitress with an amazing memory and a gift for languages, and grows attached to her – only to find her dead later, Sylar’s latest victim. Hiro decides to transport himself back in time to save her, promising Ando that he’ll only appear to be gone five seconds. When Hiro fails to appear, Ando can only assume that his friend has become the next victim…

Homecoming

HeroesMohinder Suresh is newly obsessed with his late father’s research, after discovering evidence of another person with unnatural abilities. After learning that the young boy in his recent visions and dreams is a real person, Mohinder strongly considers abandoning his academic career to pursue a greater calling – monitoring what could be a new step in human evolution. In Texas, Mr. Bennet orders his assistant to give the newly-rehabilitated Isaac Mendez heroin again, in order to kick-start the artist’s gift for painting the future. Already aware that a grim fate has been predicted for Claire, Bennet is willing to do anything to get a more accurate prediction. As Ando waits for Hiro’s return, he gets a call from Peter Petrelli, urging him to go to Claire’s high school in Odessa to help him complete his mission to save the cheerleader. At wit’s end, Bennet grounds Claire and forbids her to attend homecoming, but powers beyond his control seem destined to guide her toward a fateful – and potentially fatal – meeting with Sylar.

Six Months Ago

HeroesHiro teleports himself six months into the past, where he immediately introduces himself to the waitress at the diner in Odessa and tells her he intends to prevent her death. But while Hiro is doing that, other events that happened six months ago, each of them shaping the various heroes’ destinies, are unfolding as before. Dr. Suresh, Mohinder’s father, contacts several people who he’d like to run tests on to check for extraordinary abilities, including Claire’s father and a timid watchmaker named Gabriel. Attorney Nathan Petrelli, about to prosecute an organized crime figure connected to a powerful man named Linderman, is chased down by the mob and flies out of the driver’s seat of his car – leaving his wife to become crippled when the car slams into a bridge. Claire experiences the first major accident that leads her to realize she’s invulnerable. Niki Sanders is stunned when her father tracks her down, trying to be a part of her life again after he abandoned his family when Niki’s sister Jessica died. When Dr. Suresh’s tests reveal no obvious signs of any kind of power in Gabriel Gray, he bolts from Suresh’s apartment in a rage – after grabbing the name of another person Suresh planned to contact. When Gabriel sees that Suresh’s next test subject does indeed have telekinetic ability, he flies into a jealous rage again and murders the man in cold blood – and ends up with his power…as well as a new name: Sylar.

Fallout

HeroesIn the aftermath of the rescue of Claire Bennet, the FBI team tracking Sylar goes to Odessa, Texas to look for clues. Parkman meets Peter Petrelli, who is unable to explain his miraculous survival when he and Sylar fell from the top of the stadium bleachers – and for a moment, Peter can read Parkman’s mind just like Parkman can read his. Sylar, on the other hand, is now in custody – but not FBI custody. He awakens in a secure cell, captured by Mr. Bennet and his people, who intend to all but dissect him to learn how he can have more than one power. Bennet has his hands full in other areas too; he’s gone into full damage control mode with the homecoming incident, trying his best to conceal Claire’s part in it and, in fact, trying to eliminate any memory of what happened aside from a mysterious, grisly death at the school. Claire now has no way to hide her healing ability from him, but then she finds that he’s known all along. Bennet frees Isaac Mendez after keeping the artist locked up long enough to kick his heroin habit again, and Mendez promptly calls Hiro, who is depressed after learning that he can’t make major changes to history. Mendez goes to meet Hiro and Ando and, for the first time, creates one of his pieces of clairvoyant artwork without the influence of drugs – not that this can help him to explain why he’s drawn a picture of Hiro heroically wielding a sword…against a huge dinosaur.

Godsend

HeroesTwo weeks after experiencing a horrific vision of the destruction of New York City, with Parkman, Hiro, Claire, Nathan, and an unknown laughing man present, Peter Petrelli is still hospitalized. Hoping to learn more about what drove him to Texas, Peter’s brother Nathan goes to meet Isaac Mendez, and even as Nathan says that he doesn’t believe Mendez’ visions of an unarmed man causing the city’s destruction, in walks someone else who has seen precisely that vision of the future: Hiro. With Ando in tow as always, Hiro has returned to New York City to seek the fabled sword of samurai Takezo Kensai, believing that it will return his powers to him, only to discover that the sword is in the hands of someone named Linderman. Parkman, on nothing more than Mr. Bennet’s stray, unshielded thought about Sylar, convinces the FBI to raid the paper company where Bennett works, but they find nothing, and suddenly Parkman is dropped from the investigation. Bennet, in the meantime, goes to Suresh – this time to ask for help – but is turned down. When Peter awakens from an even more intense vision of the destruction he believes he will cause, he decides to leave the Big Apple, but along the way, he meets a man who no one else can see – a man with a familiar laugh.

The Fix

HeroesWhen his brother Peter goes missing after waking up in the hospital, Nathan Petrelli seeks out Mohinder Suresh, the only person who seems to have a grasp of what’s happening. Suresh theorizes that Peter’s ability is to assimilate the abilities of those with whom he comes into contact; Nathan is only interested in whether or not Peter can be “cured”. Hiro and Ando, continuing their quest for the samurai sword that Hiro seeks, run afoul of black-suited men in black vehicles. When they’re captured, Ando decides that the world can save itself: he just wants to go home. Hiro insists on meeting “the big boss”, only to find out that it’s not the villain he expected. As D.L. wrestles with Nikki’s murder arrest that may lead to a death sentence, he finds that he’s falling short of Micah’s expectations…and that the boy has unique abilities of his own. Claire’s renewed search for her birth parents leads her to a woman who may be her mother, and Peter finds that he may have caught the attention of the invisible man after all.

Distractions

HeroesWorried that Peter is telling the truth about being the cause of New York City’s impending destruction, Claude begins the task of trying to teach the younger man to use his powers at will instead of by accident – even if the lesson kills him. Claire finally works up the nerve to visit her biological mother, and discovers that her mother has an unusual ability of her own, but very little to say about Claire’s real father. After locking Mr. Bennet in the cell that was meant for him, Sylar goes to Bennet’s house to lay in wait for Claire. Hiro confronts his own father, who demands that he return to Japan to assume his rightful place as the heir to the family business. But despite the pressure, Hiro instead maneuvers his sister into that position, freeing himself up to continue his quest. When Bennet escapes the cell and returns home, he shoots Sylar, but Sylar still escapes. After another incident where her destructive personality comes out, Niki Sanders is miraculously set free, though it’s made clear that she’ll be expected to repay Linderman for making it possible.

Unexpected

HeroesIn his isolated hideout in the Nevada desert, Ted Sprague gets an instant message from someone claiming to know what he’s been through – which is a pretty good trick when he doesn’t have internet access. A woman named Hana Gitelman arrives and introduces herself, demonstrating an ability to generate and receive radio, wi-fi and even satellite signals with her mind. With that ability, she’s learned that almost everyone with extraordinary abilities has two things in common – two small scratches on the back of one shoulder, and a visit to Primatech Paper in Odessa, Texas…Bennet’s plant where Parkman led a futile FBI raid. Now Sprague is planning a return visit to see Bennet, and wants Parkman to go along. In Odessa, Claire reveals to Mr. Bennet that she hasn’t had her memory wiped, and blames him for her adoptive mother’s precarious health. Suresh, traveling with a man he believes to be Zane Taylor, visits a woman with extraordinary hearing, but before he can run tests on her, she’s murdered. Little does Suresh know, “Zane” is actually Sylar – and he’s systematically killing and absorbing the powers of everyone Suresh is visiting on his list. And in New York, as Peter Petrelli and Isaac Mendez argue over Simone, Mendez makes a horrible mistake.

Company Man

HeroesThe Past: 15 years ago, Noah Bennet joined the Company and went undercover at the Primatech Paper plant in Odessa, Texas. He was assigned a partner, a Englishman named Claude who had the power to turn invisible. He was also given a baby, rescued from the burned-down home of a woman with pyrokinetic abilities, and instructions by his superior, Mr. Nakamura: if the child, the product of two parents with special abilities, manifests her own powers, the Company expects Bennet to turn her over to them for immediate study. Upon learning that Claude has been sheltering others with special powers rather than handing them over, the Company orders Bennet to execute his partner. After Claude is shot twice, he vanishes, and Bennet assumes he’s dead.

The Present: Originally setting out to comb Bennet’s home for evidence, Ted Sprague – with Parkman in tow – sees Bennet himself pull into the driveway, with his entire family. A break-in to find incriminating information becomes a hostage situation. Able to read Claire’s thoughts and discover her self-healing ability, Parkman shoots her to prove his ruthlessness. Sprague keeps Bennet’s wife and son hostage at the house while Parkman follows Bennet to the paper plant. Worried about Sprague’s ability to keep his nuclear temper down, Parkman helps Bennet, but even when they return to the house with the evidence, it may not be enough to satisfy Sprague. And if he goes nuclear, Claire may have to demonstrate her ability – with the Company watching closely – to save the day.

Parasite

HeroesHaving forgotten about Claire, Parkman and Ted Sprague (thanks to the Haitian’s memory-erasing ability), Mr. Bennet is sent on a new assignment with a new partner, a woman who can change her shape. Claire is being taken to Canada, complete with a new identity and cover story, by Bennet’s Haitian partner, but she gets away from him and makes her escape to New York, where she hopes to hide with Peter Petrelli. Peter, however, has gone on the run, following Isaac’s accidental shooting of Simone with bullets that were meant for Peter. Hiro breaks into the heart of Linderman’s empire to steal the sword and regain his power, after sending Ando home for his own safety. But Ando won’t go home, and saves Hiro’s neck – just in time for both of them to teleport into a future where Hiro hasn’t saved the world. Suresh, having finally realized that he’s been traveling with Sylar himself instead of Zane Taylor, drugs Sylar and prepares to take revenge for his father’s murder, as well as the deaths of countless others. But Sylar isn’t kept in captivity easily, and when Peter walks in the door of Suresh’s apartment, he’s immediately at the killer’s mercy.
