Motherhood

Xena: Warrior PrincessThe gods have gathered in the Great Hall on Olympus. They’re angry that Ares has kept the fact that Livia is Eve to himself for so long. Athena says that now Xena is a mother, she’ll be even harder to stop and calls on the Furies. Ares says he has already tried that with Xena. Athena knows that, but claims her plans are more subtle. Aprhodite begs her not to go after the bard. Athena tells her that if she’s got such a soft spot for Gabrielle, then she shouldn’t watch.

Meanwhile Xena and Gabrielle, after saving Eve from a mob seeking revenge against Livia, are with the followers of Eli. Xena says that Eli had a way of initiating people into his way. A woman says that there is someone who continues that tradition, the Baptist. They go to this man and he baptizes Eve. As he is doing this, Xena gets a message sent by the Archangel Michael. Suddenly Poseidon rises in the ocean as Discord, Demios, Hades, Hephestus and Artemis appear on the beach and attack Xena, Gabrielle and Eve.

The White Iris

Star Trek Continues

This is an episode of a fan-made series whose storyline may be invalidated by later official studio productions.

Stardate not given: Captain Kirk, on behalf of the Federation, delivers a new planetary defense grid to a word just joining the Federation. But during the ceremonial handover of the control console, a member of a dissident faction attacks and seriously wounds Kirk. Dr. McCoy reluctantly administers an experimental, little-tested drug to save Kirk’s life, but the captain begins to have hallucinations of several of the women he has fallen in love with on his journeys – all of whom died as a direct result of being in Kirk’s company. Neither McCoy nor Spock can adequately explain these visions. Worse yet, the new Federation member world’s rival neighboring planet begins to launch an all-out attack…and the newly-delivered defense grid controls are useless until Kirk unlocks them with a special password, which he has not been able to remember since he was injected with the experimental drug.

Star Trek ContinuesNotes: Guest star Colin Baker was the sixth Doctor to star in the BBC’s venerable time-traveling sci-fi series Doctor Who (arguably the only genre franchise to rival Star Trek for longevity). While there have been several Star Trek/Doctor Who casting crossovers in years past, Baker is the first Doctor to appear in anything Star Trek related. Adrienne Wilkinson played Eve, the adult daughter of Xena: Warrior Princess, in the final two seasons of that series.

The women hallucinated by Kirk appear in the following episodes:

Wolves And A Door

Star Wars: RebelsThanks to his Force connection to the Loth-Wolves, Ezra makes the others aware that the abandoned Jedi Temple on Lothal is now occupied by Imperial forces who are close to cracking its secrets. Hera approves a mission to keep that from happening, but is surprised when the Loth-Wolves themselves provide passage to the temple, which is far north of the rebel base camp. Sabine and Ezra disguise themselves as Biker Scouts and enter the Imperial operation, finding that it is being led by an unknown man who reports directly to the Emperor himself. The Loth-Wolves are defending their own secret of travel across Lothal by means of the Force, and need Ezra to learn and protect that secret as well…even if it means leaving Sabine in the hands of the Empire.

Notes: Strong with the Dark Side, this episode of Rebels is a wretched hive of scum and villainy from numerous other SF shows and movies, whether it’s Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy from the Harry Potter movies, who had just finished his stint as the suspicious Captain Lorca on Star Trek: Discovery mere weeks before this episode’s premiere ), Malcolm McDowell (of A Clockwork Orange fame, and still infamous as “the man who killed Captain Kirk” in 1994’s Star Trek: Generations), or Emperor Palpatine himself, Ian McDiarmid, making his first Rebels appearance. Ashley Eckstein appears as Ahsoka for the first time since the season 2 finale, with Adrienne Wilkinson (Eve from Xena: Warrior Princess) appearing as the voice of one of the figures in the painting from the walls of the ancient Jedi temple.
