Godzilla vs. the Sea Monster
Ryota is sent by his mother to look for his missing brother, Yata, who has been lost a sea and given up for dead. Ryota meets Nita and Inchino, and convinces the two men take him to the boat docks several miles away. On a boat, they find another man, Yoshimura, who tells them they can stay overnight but must leave in the morning. In the morning, Ryota sails the boat out to sea hours before the others awaken. Listening to the radio, the three young men realize the older man is a thief who had robbed an export company of several million yen.
Days later they encounter strange cloud formations and a massive storm breaks out. The boat is tossed to and fro by the angry seas. The four are thrown overboard as a giant claw smashes the boat to pieces. They wash up on a remote island, and begin to explore their surroundings.
They spot a ship entering the bay, spewing a mysterious yellow gas. The ship docks at a fully equipped marina, and begins to unload it’s cargo, including several captives, apparently from nearby Pacific islands. Two of the captives find an outrigger canoe nearby and try to escape a secret military force. But they are intercepted and killed by Ebirah, a giant lobster-like creature, and the owner of the claw seen by the four men. A female captive slips away into the jungle and stumbles into the four men. The five barely escape being captured and enter a cave as a storm breaks out. The female captive, Dayo reveals she is from Infant Island, the home of Mothra, and that Yata is on the island. She tells the men many of the residents of Infant Island are being enslaved by the terrorist organization Red Bamboo, and Ebirah prevents their escape but Mothra is sleeping and cannot rescue them. The five later discover a sleeping Godzilla.
The five sneak into the Red Bamboo military compound. There, they find a fully equipped arsenal and make off with several smoke bombs. They also find out the Red Bamboo is making heavy water for the manufacture of nuclear weapons. The five are discovered by the terrorists’ security officer, but manage to escape using the smoke bombs. Outside the buildings one of the men, Nita, is captured, but Ryota escapes in an observation balloon.
Dayo, Yoshimura, and the other man return to the cave where Godzilla lies sleeping. Nita is thrown in with the captives from Infant Island, who are making the yellow liquid, which is sprayed from the Red Bamboo’s ships as an Ebirah-repellent.
Ryota floats to Infant Island and finds his brother. On the other island, they decide to shove a lightning rod into Godzilla in hopes of waking him to cover up their escape while the King of the Monsters hopefully destroys the heavy water plant. Nita convinces the captives to pour away the yellow liquid and make a fake batch. A fierce storm rolls in as Ryota and Yata approach the island after several days of rowing. Ebirah smashes their canoe, but they swim to shore.
The lightning from the storm shocks Godzilla awake. Godzilla, on the shore, and Ebirah, in the bay, volley a boulder back and forth several times before Ebirah tosses it nonchalantly into the island, smashing a guard tower. Godzilla and the giant lobster wrestle in the water for a time before Ebirah slinks away.
Dayo, Yoshimura, and the other man have been setting traps to aid their escape. As they begin setting more traps, Ryota and Yata are caught in one and need to be cut down. The five of them make their way to the Red Bamboo compound. As they consider plans to free the captives from Infant Island, they are spotted by the terrorists who chase them back into the jungle. They are all chased away by Godzilla. Dayo, however, gets left behind. Godzilla, though, seems intrigued with the beauty from Infant Island. Dayo tries to slip away as Godzilla naps, but a giant condor awakens Godzilla, who dispatches the condor with his nuclear breath. Suddenly, a group of Red Bamboo fighter jets attack the Godzilla, but he easily destroys them. Dayo is reunited with the others.
Hundreds of thousands of volts sent through high power lines manage to keep Godzilla from entering the compound. He kicks and stomps around the facility, and throws boulders inside, eventually causing the electricity to fail. The commander of the Red Bamboo orders the nuclear bomb to be set to self destruct. Several Red Bamboo soldiers retrieve the yellow liquid as they prepare to evacuate, not realizing it’s the bogus batch. Yoshimura uses his safecracking skills to free the captives, and they run past Godzilla who is continuing the smash the compound. A ship carrying the fleeing Red Bamboo leaves the harbor, spraying the bogus Ebirah-repellant. Ebirah just smashes the ship, killing all aboard. Godzilla heads to the harbor to finish his battle with the giant lobster.
Meanwhile, the now-freed captives are making a giant net and chanting to awaken Mothra as their friends on Infant Island perform a ceremonial dance in front of the giant moth. Mothra awakens as Godzilla and Ebirah continue their battle underwater. The timer on the nuclear bomb continues to tick away.
As Mothra flies to the island, Godzilla rips the claws off Ebirah, who swims away, likely mortally wounded. Mothra arrives and the captives gather into the net. Godzilla moves onshore and uses his nuclear breath. Mothra protects the escapees by beating her huge wings to create a giant wind, and then pushes Godzilla over. She picks up the net and they fly off. Because he helped them escape, the humans yell at Godzilla, urging him to run away. He leaps into the ocean moments before the nuclear bomb explodes.
The threat from the Red Bamboo, however, may not have been eliminated…

There have been suggestions that this was originally to have been a King Kong movie, but Toho couldn’t secure the rights. Avon hatches a risky plan to take over the planet Syndexia, the last remaining source of the hyperdrive fuel substance called Syndeton. But the already delicate plot is unraveled when Vila gets drunk in a bar on another planet and mentions Syndexia as the crew’s next destination. Vila is only barely rescued by the others as a Federation squadron moves in. Thanks to Vila’s carelessness, Servalan is alerted to Avon’s next destination, yet he presses on. Avon’s concern with Syndexia is not just with the coup to be gained by taking over the supply of Syndeton, either – in so doing, he intends to overthrow Madame Gaskia, Syndexia’s ruler, who once betrayed Avon to the Federation long before he joined Blake. Servalan is interested not only in the power to be harvested from Syndeton, but from its potential as a mind-controlling substance as well, an ability she tests by taking over Tarrant. Before long, the chase is on to find Dr. Rossum, a missing Federation scientist whose research into Syndeton could unlock its dangerous mind-control abilities. Scorpio’s crew finds Rossum first, but at the last minute, Avon insists on conceding this battle to Servalan – and the spoils could be control over every life form in the galaxy.
Sam Flynn, the rebellious son of legendary (and now missing) ENCOM video game programmer Kevin Flynn, spends his time fixing up his father’s motorcycle and finding new ways to cause grief for the current generation of ENCOM executives. The only member of the ENCOM board that Sam can tolerate for even short amounts of time is his father’s old friend Alan Bradley, who reveals that he received a mysterious page from Flynn’s downtown arcade – which has, like its owner, been out of commission for 20 years. Sam goes to investigate, and finds a hidden office full of unusual computers and other equipment, including a laser which activates the moment Sam queries the computer about its function. Sam finds himself inside the computer, in a digital realm known as the grid. Forced to compete in deadly winner-takes-all games on the grid, Sam learns quickly that he must win to live – and to lose means death. He comes to the attention of the seemingly all-powerful digital dictator Clu, who looks like his programmer, Kevin Flynn (circa 1989). Clu takes a personal interest in challenging Sam, who is then rescued by a female program named Quorra and taken to meet his real father. Now grizzled and isolated, Flynn’s custodianship of this experimental digital world was long ago usurped by Clu, in a coup that also marked the last time Flynn saw his friend, the warrior progeam Tron. Now Clu has plans for both the world inside the computer and the real world as well. Two generations of Flynns, with Quorra’s help, might just be able to save both worlds.
The Doctor is once again dragged into the court of the Time Lords, but this time he is sought not as the accused, but as the attorney for the accused. His client is revealed to be the Valeyard, who mercilessly prosecuted the Doctor at his own trial before being revealed as a dark, twisted future incarnation of the Doctor himself. The crimes of which the Valeyard is accused are kept classified, leaving the Doctor few avenues for defending his client, so the Doctor takes the opportunity to delve into the Valeyard’s background, trying to use the trial as a way to discover how the Valeyard came into existence. The answers prove to be both disquieting and cryptic, with the Valeyard finally admitting that he is the result of an experiment to extend a Time Lord’s regenerative life span beyond the accepted limit of 13 incarnations. The Valeyard claims to be the product of a failed bid for immortality, but whose bid? And how does the Valeyard’s very existence constitute a crime punishable by his death?
Decades after the defeat of Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine at Endor, the Republic has been restored but is still terrorized by remnants of the Empire now known as the First Order, led by General Hux and Kylo Ren, a self-styled but temperamental disciple of the dark side of the Force. A resistance movement has arisen to combat the First Order, and one of the Resistance’s best pilots, Poe Dameron, has gone to the planet Jakku to search for clues to the whereabouts of missing Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker. Poe gets the information he came for, but he has been followed by the First Order. Poe seals the secrets inside his trusty droid, BB-8, and sends it away for safety; Poe himself is captured, and is tortured by Kylo Ren. Poe finds an unlikely ally in a stormtrooper who wants to escape and defect from the First Order, so they steal a TIE Fighter and blast their way out of a Star Destroyer’s hangar, only to be shot down over Jakku. The former stormtrooper, given the name “Finn” by his new comrade, ejects from the fighter, but finds no sign that Poe survived. He heads for the nearest settlement he can find on foot, where he meets a young scavenger named Rey, who has befriended BB-8. Finn tries to help Rey out of a scrape with some other scavengers trying to take the droid off her hands, but quickly discovers that she’s actually more capable than Finn is at fighting her way out of the situation. But the arrival of First Order forces is more than either of them can handle, and they try to make their escape in a dilapidated Corellian freighter that hasn’t taken off in years. Rey manages to get it flying – barely – and with Finn manning the guns, they’re able to fight their way into space, where the neglected, cannibalized ship promptly breaks down, leaving it helpless as a larger freighter takes it on board. Finn, Rey and BB-8 prepare to mount a last-ditch defense when their newly-acquired ship is boarded by its former owner, Han Solo. With Chewbacca beside him, Han is delighted to take back his old ship, the Millennium Falcon, but is more than a little annoyed to find two young people and a plucky droid aboard. At the first mention of BB-8’s mission to take vital information to the Resistance, Han is once again being pulled into saving the galaxy, whether he likes it or not. Taking the controls of the Falcon and abandoning his smuggling life again, Han takes Rey and Finn to a watering hole on another planet, intending to hand them over to his friend, Maz, who has with ties to the Resistance. But Maz is able to pick up on other things as well: she knows Finn is a coward on the run, and not the hero he claims to be, and she has a gift for Rey – a Jedi lightsaber that once belonged to Anakin Skywalker and was then passed on to his son. Even touching the saber fills Rey’s head with unfamiliar visions and a few painful memories of her own childhood, such as being left on Jakku by her parents. Rey races outside, and when Han, Chewie and Finn try to find her, they witness a terrifying sight: a vast beam of energy streaking across the sky, the superweapon of the First Order’s planet-sized Starkiller Base firing at the seat of the New Republic government and destroying every planet in its solar system. The First Order storms in, and Kylo Ren kidnaps Rey because he can sense that Rey has seen BB-8’s partial map to Luke’s whereabouts. Resistance X-Wing fighters arrive, and as Han and Chewie blast their way through legions of stormtroopers, Finn takes the First Order in with the lightsaber that Rey rejected, only to find he doesn’t have the skill to fight with it properly. The Falcon follows the Resistance fleet back to its base, which is Starkiller Base’s next target. Han is reunited with Leia, and tells her that he has seen their son – who happens to have taken the name Kylo Ren. The Resistance prepares an audacious attack on Starkiller Base itself, but Finn wants to do something even more outlandish: he wants to go there and rescue Rey. Leia wants Han to go with Finn and bring back the son they lost to the dark side of the Force when he rejected Luke’s training. As Starkiller Base charges its weapon to wipe out the Resistance, the Resistance makes a last desperate play to relieve the First Order of its seat of power…and it’s a mission from which not everyone will return.
