Sarah Jane Adventures Season 2

The Day Of The Clown – Part 2

The Sarah Jane AdventuresJust when escape seems impossible, salvation comes from an unlikely source – the sound of Rani’s cell phone ringing somehow disrupts Spellman’s telekinetic power, allowing Sarah and the others to escape. With Mr. Smith’s help, Sarah discovers that Spellman – as well as the legendary Pied Piper and the clown known as Odd Bob, both of whom Spellman also claims to be – is most likely an alien, a creature that can only maintaining its existence by feeding on strong emotions. Spellman’s preferred diet is fear, and he promises to provide himself with a feast by causing more children to disappear. Even if she can stop Spellman’s diabolical plan, Sarah and Luke may not escape his clutches.

Guest Cast: Bradley Walsh (Odd Bob / Elijah Spellman / The Pied Piper), Ace Bhatti (Haresh Chandra), Mina Anwar (Gila Chandra), Alexander Armstrong (voice of Mr. Smith), Floella Benjamin (Professor Rivers), Jessica Mogridge (young Sarah Jane)

Notes: Again, Sarah visits the Pharos Institute, last seen in the season one two-parter The Lost Boy and possibly (but possibly not) related to the Pharos Project in the 1981 Doctor Who story Logopolis. In a Doctor Who in-joke that only longtime fans would spot, one of the clown images Sarah views on her laptop is a cropped portion of a well-known publicity photo from the 1966 story The Celestial Toymaker, starring William Hartnell; clearly the production team was clowning around. Mr. Smith’s ability to manipulate the British telephone network en masse was first demonstrated in the Doctor Who episode The Stolen Earth.

Rebels Season 1 Star Wars

Droids In Distress

Star Wars: RebelsWith their raids on Imperial cargo flights not going well and supplies running low, the Ghost crew is becoming demoralized. Ezra is doubly frustrated because the repeated attempts to intercept Imperial cargo have left no time for the Jedi training that Kanan promised him. Kanan opts for a straightforward bit of piracy, stealing an Imperial weapons shipment under cover, but when Zeb recognizes the stolen guns as the same kind of banned weapons that killed most of his people, the fight becomes personal. In the meantime, Chopper runs afoul of a pair of droids tagging along with an Imperial dignitary, butting metal heads with the newer-model blue astromech droid and his protocol droid counterpart. But C-3PO and R2-D2 are on a secret mission of their own, one which lands them in trouble again.

RebelsNotes: Anthony Daniels continues his hat trick of having played C-3PO in nearly every audiovisual offshoot of the Star Wars universe, including the original films. Phil Lamarr reprises the role of Bail Organa, who he voiced in many Clone Wars episodes (as well as other characters such as Jedi Knight Kit Fisto). Paul Reubens originated the voice of RX-24 in Disneyland’s long-running Star Tours ride in 1987, which was also the source of the passenger vehicle piloted by RX-24 in this episode, marking the first on-screen validation of Star Tours.

Red Dwarf Season 11

Officer Rimmer

Red DwarfA Space Corps deep space exploration vehicle is found tumbling through space, a short distance away from an asteroid belt that will almost certainly destroy it. As the Red Dwarf crew approaches aboard Starbug, an automated system aboard the Space Corps ship begins bio-printing a crew, except that there’s a bit of a paper jam. As the ship drifts into the asteroid field, Rimmer panics and fires a missile, which saves the ship almost by accident, and earns Rimmer a field promotion to officer from the bio-printed commander of the rescued ship. Rimmer wastes no time in instituting a class system, reserving officer perks entirely for himself, including access to the bio-printer, which he uses to create a crew of fellow Rimmers.
