Season 03 SG-1 Stargate

Deadman Switch

Stargate SG-1Not far from the stargate on a distant world, SG-1 is captured within a force field by a man named Aris Boch, who proclaims himself to be the galaxy’s greatest bounty hunter…and declares SG-1 his latest catch, wanted alive by the System Lord, Sokar. Boch is willing to set O’Neill’s team free, however, if they help him capture an even more valuable prize who happens to be another Goa’uld. After an unsuccessful attempt to ditch their captor and escape in his ship, the team reluctantly agrees to help Boch capture his next quarry. But when they do find the renegade Goa’uld, he gives himself up to O’Neill willingly and confides that he is not Goa’uld, but a Tok’ra agent whose capture could provide Sokar with the information needed to wipe out the Tok’ra. Of course, Boch is only watching his bottom line, regardless of the ethics of helping a System Lord who helped to enslave the bounty hunter’s own people. To Boch, the Tok’ra are no better than the Goa’uld. To Teal’c, the Tok’ra are fighting a noble cause – and saving this one might be worth a supreme sacrifice.

The Human Factor

Dalek Empire: The Human FactorSix months after becoming the mouthpiece of the Daleks’ billions of slaves, negotiating with the Dalek Supreme and touring Dalek-subjugated worlds, Susan Mendes has become troubled. Kalendorf feels that she’s become a collaborator, but agrees to join her as she’s shuttled by the Daleks from planet to planet to give her inspirational pitches to the slave populations there. On his own, Kalendorf visits a warehouse where one group of slaves trying to mount a rebellion, and he tries to quash their effort to save their lives – and to avoid derailing a larger rally for freedom to come. Season 08 SG-1 Stargate

Icon

Stargate SG-1Daniel awakens in unfamiliar surroundings, suffering from injured that he barely remembers receiving. Three months earlier, SG-1 emerged – quite publicly – through a stargate that was treated as a museum relic. The planet onto which the team stepped is in the grip of a cold war, but the suspicions that result from the reports of the stargate’s activation heat up hostilities quickly. While he was still trying to learn about the planet’s people and culture, Daniel became trapped when an all-out intercontinental war broke out – and as O’Neill and the rest of the team try to secure Daniel’s release from a rapid succession of leaders rising to power and falling again, no one can be sure that SG-1’s appearance wasn’t the spark that ignited decades of smoldering hostilities.

Season 1 Stargate Stargate Atlantis

Suspicion

Stargate AtlantisAn excursion through the stargate ends in a hasty retreat back to Atlantis, and as Major Sheppard’s team returns, Dr. McKay takes a shot to the head from a Wraith weapon, but its paralyzing effects are only temporary. Dr. Weir points out that out of a mere nine trips through the gate, Sheppard has encountered the Wraith five times, and worries that a spy is operating within the team in an attempt to sabotage their stay on Atlantis. Sheppard agrees, but is less than thrilled when Teyla seems to be the prime suspect. Weir sets up interviews with every Athosian who is serving in the city, including Teyla, but restricts them from certain parts of Atlantis or from leaving the city. With stargate travel declared off-limits, Sheppard and Ford explore Atlantis’ own world with a jumper, finding an enormous land mass elsewhere on the planet. Weir considers the possibility of relocating the Athosians to that continent, but as she prepares for a backlash at the suggestion, she is surprised when most of the city’s Athosians approach her with an offer to leave voluntarily. But after they leave and Sheppard’s team resumes trips through the Stargate, with Teyla in tow, the Wraith attacks continue.

Lower Decks Season 01 Star Trek

Second Contact

Star Trek: Short TreksStardate 57436.2: Ensign D’Vana Tendi, an Orion, is welcomed aboard the Starfleet ship U.S.S. Cerritos just before it goes to conduct second contact, formalizing Federation relations with the Galardonians, an agrarian species first contacted a year ago. Tendi meets fellow Ensigns Boimler, Mariner, and Rutherford, though Mariner at some point had made it to lieutenant before being busted down again. The eager-to-please Boimler is nervous when Captain Freeman herself summons him to her ready room…to ask him to report on any unauthorized activities engaged in by Mariner. When Commander Ransom and his away team return from meeting the Galardonians, Ransom has unwittingly brought a virus back with him, and he is the first to devolve into a zombie-like berzerker, spreading the infection by biting fellow crew members. The ensuing mayhem threatens to derail Rutherford’s date with Ensign Barnes, but doesn’t affect Mariner and Boimler at all since they’re also on away duty. Boimler misinterprets Mariner’s interactions with the Galardonians, leading to a diplomatic faux pas that makes things much worse for the away team…who still have no idea what to expect when they return to the Cerritos.

Star Trek: Lower DecksCast: Tawny Newsome (Ensign Beckett Mariner), Jack Quaid (Ensign Brad Boimler), Noel Wells (Ensign D’Vana Tendi), Eugene Cordero (Ensign Rutherford), Dawnn Lewis (Captain Freeman), Jerry O’Connell (Commander Ransom), Fred Tatasciore (Lt. Shaxs), Gillian Vigman (Dr. T’Ana), Jessica McKenna (Ensign Barnes), Phil LaMarr (Admiral), Ben Rodgers (Lt. Commander Stevens), Paul Scheer (Lt. Commander Billups)

Notes: The first studio-produced animated Star Trek series since the animated extension of the original series left NBC’s airwaves in 1974, Lower Decks is the creation of writer Mike McMahan. While working as a production assistant and writers’ assistant on such animated Star Trek: Lower Decksshows as South Park, Out There, and Rick & Morty, McMahan started an irreverent Twitter account positing unlikely storylines for an “unmade eighth season” of Star Trek: The Next Generation. Material from that account was published in an officially licensed Star Trek book, Warped: An Engaging Guide to the Never-Aired 8th Season in 2015, by which point he had been promoted to writer and story editor on Rick & Morty. Another animated series created by McMahan, Solar Opposites, featured a strong sci-fi element and premiered on Hulu just a few months before Star Trek: Lower Decks; he also wrote a live-action Short Treks short centered around Harry Mudd, The Escape Artist. (Two other Short Treks, The Girl Who Made The Stars and Ephraim And DOT, reintroduced Star Trek viewers to the animated side of the franchise as one-offs.)

Star Trek: Lower DecksFamiliar Star Trek species spotted in this episode alone include a Benzite ensign boarding the Cerritos with Tendi, a Bajoran (Shaxs), a Caitian (Dr. T’Ana, a species not seen since Star Trek IV), and Rutherford’s date, Ensign Barnes, is a Trill. As the crew is recovering from the “rage virus”, an Andorian and a Vulcan are seen, the latter of whom may want to look in a mirror (mirror) before returning to duty. Rutherford himself has recently received a cybernetic enhancement, which hopefully has a better firewall than Lt. Airiam’s, and at least one crewmember on the Cerritos wears a VISOR similar to that worn by Geordi LaForge. Even Boimler knows who Spock is, but he’ll have to look Gary Mitchell (Where No Man Has Gone Before, 1966) up in the database. The Genesis Project was an unmentionable-in-public secret in the 23rd century, but is apparently public knowledge in the 24th. The Cerritos’ shuttles are named after American national parks: Redwood, Yosemite and Joshua Tree. Lower Decks takes place roughly a year after the events of Star Trek: Nemesis (2002).
