Original Series 1 Survivors

A Beginning

Survivors (1970s series)A trade with another settlement – some of the gasoline from Donny’s tanker for seed – turns disastrous when the seed proves to be useless. Open dissent breaks out among the survivors, and Abby has had her fill of having to make all the decisions. Another group of plague survivors appears, though they have one seriously ill woman with them, and bear a warning about a more aggressive group of survivors beginning to chase smaller groups off of their own land. The woman’s illness forces Greg to consider the safety of the rest of his group and deny them access to the Grange. When the new group leaves, however, they leave the sick woman near the Grange to die on her own; Greg advocates letting her do precisely that, while Abby decides to take her in instead. A serious disagreement erupts, and this time Abby opts to leave the Grange; after several hours of walking, she encounters survivalist Jimmy Garland, still thriving in the post-plague world, and he takes her in for the night. Greg, Arthur and Paul decide to reach out to other nearby settlements and groups, even the Waterhouse, to form a mutual defense pact. As she recovers, the sick woman reveals that she has met a boy named Peter Grant.

She went on to appear in Space: 1999, a few guest shots on Quantum Leap as Zoey, the hologram advisor of the “Evil Leaper” from the show’s later seasons, three episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation (Contagion, First Contact, Face Of The Enemy), Babylon 5, and a brief stint in what was intended to be a recurring role in Star Trek: Voyager (Cathexis, Persistence Of Vision), among many, many other appearances and video game voice-over roles. Pipe Dream

Friday The 13th: The SeriesAt a seminar for inventors, Ray Dallion is curious about a younger attendee’s invention, which turns out to be a powerful weapon that would be a hot ticket to instant wealth if sold to a defense contractor. Ray lights an ornate pipe in the shape of a devil’s head, and its thick smoke envelops the weapon’s inventor, killing him slowly, agonizingly, and ultimately without a trace. Ray takes the designs for the weapon, passes them off as his own, and lands a plum defense job…as well as winning a new rival at that job, whose weapon has just been left on the back burner in favor of Ray’s new invention.

Ryan gets a wedding invitation from his estranged father’s new address, sent by his fiancee. Ray takes Ryan to his new workplace to show off the invention that changed his fortunes; Ryan is less than impressed to learn that it’s a weapon. Mikki learns from Ray’s fiancee that Ray’s Uncle Lewis gave him a pipe, and Mikki suspects it’s one of Uncle Lewis’ cursed objects, though she can’t convince Ryan of that…until she sees Ray dispatch his rival co-worker with her own eyes, again using the pipe. But Ray also knows that she’s seen something, making her his next target.

Season 03 SG-1 Stargate

Legacy

Stargate SG-1A visit to a Goa’uld outpost reveals nothing but dead, decaying bodies – possibly due to a disease – sending SG-1 scrambling for their hazmat gear. When the team returns to Earth, Daniel begins hearing things and even seeing things, including a vivid by unlikely vision of one of the Goa’uld corpses emerging from a stargate in his quarters. Further hallucinations force Daniel to undergo a medical and psychiatric evaluation, and the latter reveals classic signs of schizophrenia. Another incident, in which Daniel thinks he sees a Goa’uld infest O’Neill, leaves little choice but to institutionalize Daniel. When his teammates visit him next, Daniel is locked in a padded cell, and is certain he sees something emerge from his body and enter Teal’c. Daniel slowly begins to recover, but can’t get anyone to listen to him when he says he’s heard the voice of Ma’chello, the inventor of anti-Goa’uld weaponry who once swapped bodies with Daniel. And if Daniel is right, Teal’c is in mortal danger.

Season 1 Stargate Stargate Atlantis

The Rising

Stargate AtlantisAt the Ancient site discovered in Antarctica, Daniel Jackson and Dr. Elizabeth Weir, along with a team from Stargate Command, are still trying to determine the location of the Ancients’ lost city and learn more about their leftover technology. One such experiment, with a control chair that can only be activated by those humans who possess a rare Ancient gene, launches a drone weapon into the sky over Antarctica – and straight at a helicopter bringing General Jack O’Neill to the base. O’Neill only makes it safely to land due to the quick thinking of his pilot, Major Sheppard. But that’s not the only skill Sheppard brings to the table – completely by accident, it’s discovered that he has the Ancient gene, and a more instinctive rapport with Ancient technology than anybody on the team Dr. Weir has assembled. Weir asks General O’Neill to assign Sheppard to join the expedition, despite a colorful service record.

That expedition, Daniel believes, will lead to the lost Ancient city of Atlantis – and there is now evidence that the city is not just on another planet, but in another galaxy, a trip requiring enormous power. Dr. Rodney McKay, the leading authority on the stargate outside of the SGC, thinks that an Ancient power device known as a Zero Point Module, will be the only way to open a wormhole that can reach another galaxy – and in all likelihood it will prove to be a one-way trip. When Weir’s team arrives at Atlantis, the dormant but intact city awakens – especially when Major Sheppard sets foot anywhere near Ancient technology, including a hologram that tells of how the Ancients abandoned the city after years of being besieged by an enemy known as the Wraith. But the activation of all of that technology comes at a price: Atlantis is submerged beneath hundreds of feet of ocean, and the only thing that has kept the water pressure from crushing Atlantis is a shield that has operated for thousands of years. Now that the city is awakening, power is being drained from the shield. Dr. Weir assigns Colonel Sumner, the military commanding officer of the expedition, to use Atlantis’ stargate to visit a nearby world to find more ZPMs.

Sumner’s team, including Sheppard, find a primitive society on the planet on the other side of the gate, and despite Sumner’s misgivings, Sheppard befriends a local woman named Teyla, who promises to tell him more about the Wraith. But the Atlantis team gets to see the Wraith first-hand – for the first time in generations, the Wraith attack Teyla’s people without provocation, abducting many of them, along with Sumner and several of his men. Sheppard orders a hasty retreat back to Atlantis, bringing refugees from Teyla’s village with him, and begins to make plans to rescue Sumner. Dr. Weir only reluctantly gives him permission to go, but Sheppard manages to find Sumner just in time to see him being interrogated – and consumed – by the Wraith. Sheppard shoots Sumner himself to give the Colonel a relatively merciful death, but when he kills the Wraith that was interrogating Sumner, the entire Wraith hive awakens. Now the Wraith know that the Ancient city is occupied again, and thanks to what they learned from Sumner before his death, they know that the city’s new occupants come from a rich new feeding ground in another galaxy.
