Revolutionary plotters and schemers surround the three, their plans both distracting and potentially a danger to their quest. And on both the material and astral planes, Rothgo and Belor prepare to engage in battle again.

Star Trek: Deep Space NineStardate not given: Quark returns from two weeks on Ferenginar and announces that he has been diagnosed with Dorek syndrome – a rare, incurable, fatal disease – and has six days to live. In order to pay off his debts, he offers his vacuum-desicated remains for sale on the Ferengi Futures Exchange, and is shocked when a 500-bar bid comes through. Naturally, Quark accepts – only to learn that he doesn’t have the disease after all. But then his mysterious buyer – Brunt of the FCA – arrives…and he doesn’t want a refund. Meanwhile, an accident forces Bashir to transfer Keiko’s baby to Kira, and the parties involved must adjust to the unexpected situation.

Babylon 5Londo is left speechless when Sheridan reveals, in a closed session of the Alliance, the evidence Lennier recorded which confirms that Centauri ships are responsible for numerous attacks on almost every member of the Alliance. As a result, Londo delivers his government’s response – total withdrawal from the Alliance – and returns home with G’Kar in tow to try to find out why the Centauri are bringing a war upon themselves. Londo’s return is met with imprisonment. Zack discovers Garibaldi’s return to drinking, but holds his silence to try to give his former boss a chance, and Sheridan personally entrusts Garibaldi with the command of the White Star fleet in an effort to prevent the tension from escalating into a full-scale war. But unfortunately for billions of people on both sides of the conflict, Garibaldi fails both of his friends.

The Satan Pit

Doctor WhoThe Ood, under the control of the one they refer to as the Beast, close in on Rose and the crew of Sanctuary Base 8, while the Doctor and Ida Scott are stranded beneath the surface of the planet. The Doctor makes a reckless jump into the pit they’ve discovered there – a literal leap of faith – while Rose helps the survivors of the Sanctuary Base marshal their resources to save themselves. In the pit, the Doctor finds the Beast – its body, chained forever in the pit, rages aimlessly, seemingly unable to communicate with him. Little does Rose know that the Beast also is on the base with her – its disembodied intelligence inhabits the body of a young archaeologist, quietly helping the Ood whittle the crew down to just two men and Rose. But the crew manages to shut down the telepathic field controlling the Ood and, leaving the Doctor and Ida for dead (over Rose’s objections), they flee the base in their only escape vehicle. Now, unless the Doctor and Rose take decisive action without being able to contact one another, the Beast’s mind may escape into the civilized center of the galaxy to build its new army.

Notes: The Doctor mentions Draconia and Daemos as worlds that have an image of the beast. The third Doctor met the Draconians in 1973’s Frontier In Space, and have continued to feature in Doctor Who print fiction and video productions; the latter is an interesting choice since it’s the homeworld of Azal, a demonic creature who the third Doctor battled when it posed as the devil in 1971’s The Daemons; the Beast seen here might have been a much older and more powerful Daemon, or something else entirely.

Blake's 7Travis’ trap has been successfully sprung: with Vila’s betrayal, Travis has control of the Liberator and its crew, Blake is critically injured, and all of the above are being delivered to the President of the Federation. The President awaits his prize at a space station in orbit of Saturn’s moon Titan, a station which appears to have been custom-built to dismantle and study the Liberator. When Avon says he has no idea where Orac’s key is, Travis tortures him. Vila continues to obey Travis’ every whim, and his former crewmates would be happy to see him dead as a result.

The President of the Federation invites Blake to an extravagant dinner, promising to give Blake time to expound his viewpoint on the Federation’s stance on freedom, all while robotic drones begin slicing into the Liberator’s hull through the windows. Is this the last supper of the resistance?
