The Case For Rebellion

Star WarsThe Millennium Falcon arrives at the Rebel base on the fourth moon of Yavin – a base which now has mere hours to prepare for an attack by the Death Star. Luke, still mourning Ben’s death, volunteers for a Rebel attack on the huge space station – something Han feels is a suicide mission, especially given Luke’s lack of combat flying experience. For his part, Han intends to cash in his many favors and get out of the Yavin system before the Empire starts destroying planets, and his bluntness startles his newfound comrades. Luke tries to explain that the Empire will clamp down on all trade, legal or otherwise, but Han is sure that he and Chewie can survive, and after reaping his reward, blasts off for safer havens.

Duet

Star Trek: Deep Space NineStardate not given: A Federation freighter arrives and delivers a passenger who needs medical attention. At the mention of the passenger’s disease, Kira realizes that whoever it is, they were at a forced labor camp operated on Bajor by the Cardassians which Kira helped to liberate years ago. But the patient turns out to be a Cardassian. Kira places him under arrest and, against Sisko’s advice, interrogates him. Under questioning, the Cardassian suddenly proclaims himself to be Gul Darhe’el, who commanded the labor camps and authorized genocidal killings of Bajorans. Kira, along with the Bajoran provisional government, takes a more vested interest in proving him guilty of past atrocities…even if he isn’t who he says he is.

Jeremiah Season 1

Ring Of Truth

JeremiahFollowing up on information given to them by Theo, Jeremiah and Kurdy go to visit a small, tightly-knit community. They make camp on the way and Jeremiah is awakened by what he’s sure is an elephant (though Kurdy doesn’t believe this). When they reach the inn Theo told them about, Jeremiah and Kurdy are stunned when it turns out to be little more than a brothel. They each pair off with a girl for the evening, and Jeremiah finds himself quite taken with Polly, a budding artist who longs to leave the inn and find her missing daughter. She convinces him to challenge Yarbo, the inn’s gruff bouncer, to win her freedom. Kurdy feels he’s better equipped to handle a fight than Jeremiah, and, to make his point, knocks Jeremiah out cold and takes his place in the ring. Though he’s sore later, Kurdy wins Polly’s freedom, and she leads Jeremiah and Kurdy to a nearby circus where Gregory, the father of her little girl, works. Gregory is suspicious of Polly’s sudden arrival, and Polly’s daughter doesn’t even recognize her. Her fight to rebuild her family is just beginning. In the meantime, despite the fact that no one has believed his story of an elephant sighting so far, Jeremiah is eagerly recruited by the circus workers to help them find their wayward starring attraction.

Arthur, resigned to his existence in this dimension, is feeling fatalistic enough to work at trying to consciously avoid Stavromula Beta, a place where he has been told he will meet his own death. Doctor Who New Series Season 04

Forest Of The Dead

Doctor WhoSnatched out of the TARDIS in mid-teleport, Donna finds herself in an artificial world, where she meets the man of her dreams, has children, and enjoys a normal life with no sign of the Doctor or the TARDIS…until he suddenly appears in the place of her therapist, Dr. Moon, who she seems to see quite regularly. In the library, the Doctor’s attempts to detect his shadowy adversaries are being jammed by something, somewhere, and the ranks of the expedition are dwindling as more of its crew are consumed. Only the enigmatic Professor River Song can be of any real help to him, but the Doctor is still worried about how well she knows him – especially after she whispers one word to him that proves she knows him very well, and again when she proves that she’s more than willing to sacrifice her life to save him. Donna runs into a familiar face in the virtual construct, another victim of the Vashta Nerada who clues her in to the true nature of her new life, and she begins to question everything as her artificial world starts to collapse on itself. The Doctor realizes that Donna – and almost everyone else who was in the library before the shadows fell – have been saved in the Library’s massive computer core, but as the Vashta Nerada try to claim the library world and bring it to the brink of destruction, they may not leave him enough time to recover the survivors.
