Season 1 Space: 1999

The Testament Of Arkadia

Space: 1999The Moon’s course alters itself as it passes by the lone Earthlike planet of an isolated star. But the planet isn’t big enough to be having a gravitational effect on the passing Moon, and then the impossible happens – the Moon is drawn into an orbit near the planet and then stops dead in its tracks. A spreading power loss means that Moonbase Alpha may be uninhabitable within two days, so Koenig leads an expedition to see if something on the planet is holding the Moon still. But the planet Arkadia holds startling discoveries – a cave full of human skeletons, and a wall-sized inscription in what appears to be Sanskrit. As Alpha’s power supply, heat and life support continue bleeding away, Koenig has to consider the possibility of evacuating his crew to a world sterilized by an unknown disaster. But when the message found on the planet is decoded, it raises a mind-boggling question: will the Alphans be returning to humanity’s ancestral home if they settle on Arkadia?

Season 1 Xena: Warrior Princess

Mortal Beloved

Xena: Warrior PrincessAs a woman is walking through the woods one evening, she sees a ghost. She runs into the village tavern where Xena and Gabrielle are relaxing. When she tells everyone what she saw, Xena goes to investigate. The ghost is her friend Marcus. He tells her that there are problems on the other side and that he needs her help. As he is telling her to go to the Alconian lake, several other ghosts come and grab him. Xena watches helplessly as he disappears. Gabrielle doesn’t like the idea of how Xena must travel to the underworld. But she knows that the warrior needs to see how she can help her friend. The bard promises to make camp there and wait for her.

When Xena gets to the underworld, Marcus meets her. He tells her that Atyminius has stolen Hades helmet of invisiblity and with it he has sent the good souls to Tarturas while the evil souls are in the Elysian Fields. The two travel to the Fields and shortly thereafter Atyminius appears. He realizes that Xena is still alive and tries to get the others to kill her. But she diverts attention by getting the others to fight for the helmet. Atyminius makes himself invisible and leaves. Xena and Marcus then go to see Hades. He has been locked inside his castle. When he realizes that Atyminius may have returned to the world of the living, he tells Xena that the murderer can be killed again. The warrior asks Hades to give Marcus his life back so that he can help her. The god reluctantly does so, giving him only 48 hours to live.

Atyminius appears before Gabrielle. He intends for her to be his first victim. But she fights him off with her staff and tries to run away. He knocks her down and is prepared to kill her when Xena and Marcus return to the shore. The murderer again makes himself invisible, retreating after Xena and Marcus injure him. The trio tracks him through the forest by the blood from his wound. But the trail soon ends and they are forced to make camp. The next day they encounter some men who were attacked. They had been on their way to a festival celebrating a wedding. Atyminius’ favorite targets were usually brides on the night of their ceremonial bathing. They reach the village and go to speak to the father of the bride. They tell him it would be best if Xena took the bride’s place that evening for the bathing, hoping to use that to catch Atyminius.

Stargate SG-1The SGC receive a cryptic signal from the Tok’ra asking for a meeting, but O’Neill and his team wait at the appointed location for hours without making contact. A Goa’uld death glider soars overhead and crashes into the ground near the stargate, and SG-1 recovers the pilot – a badly injured Apophis. Other gliders attack, and O’Neill makes the call to bring Apophis back to Earth, where their dying Goa’uld adversary requests asylum. Apophis asks for O’Neill by name, and demands a new host in exchange for information that could propel humanity into the stars as a major power. O’Neill’s first inclination is to tell Apophis to go to hell, and he says exactly that. O’Neill and General Hammond see an opportunity to interrogate Apophis to gain intelligence on the Goa’uld, while Daniel sees an opportunity to pump the prisoner for information on Sha’re’s whereabouts. Then a delegation from the Tok’ra arrives, with a warning – they didn’t signal the SGC, and they demand Apophis be released and turned over to the Goa’uld. The Natural History Of Fear

Doctor Who: The Natural History Of FearThe Doctor, Charley and C’rizz arrive in Light City, a self-contained biodome whose citizens happily toil for – and all but worship – the State. State-approved broadcasts outline the approved behavior of a citizen of Light City, but certain ideas are considered thought-crime – and questions are illegal. Naturally, the three travelers are bursting with questions about where they’ve arrived, and they soon learn first-hand of the State’s other means of controlling its populace: those who break the rules are forcibly brainwashed and “revised,” and their original memories are recorded and become part of the broadcasts as a warning to others. The “revised” citizens are implanted with new, productive, docile personalities – and yet problems keep cropping up with the beings who think they were once a trio of time-travelers.
