One of the things I do occasionally at work is point the tower camera. Basically, as you can guess from the name, it’s a camera, right? On a tower. Hence, tower camera. I got a shot with it last week that I think I was the only person who liked it.
What you’re seeing there – by way of my cell phone camera pointed at the screen – is the moon sliding behind the nearby tower, whose lights happen to be on. I thought it was a neat shot. The feedback I got back was pretty adamant: don’t actually show the tower in a tower camera shot. (Um… why? It’s gonna give away the top secret location?)
Ah well, I liked it. I thought it was a pretty unique shot (it looked better on air than the somewhat blurry photo would suggest). Then again, I like getting occasional shots of the satellite dishes, etc.; you know, it’s a TV station. It might as well fess up to being a TV station, with transmitter towers and satellite dishes and all that being a TV station entails. *shrug*
