It all started when I leaned out the back door to let Xena in and snap a couple of pictures:
Next thing I knew, somebody had escaped back into the wild!
It seems our little buddy has missed the great outdoors, though I’m not sure he’s been alive long enough to see a really good coating of snow.
Othello and Olivia were curious, but not curious enough to step out into that wet cold sticky stuff.
And with one last look, Oberon took off into the yard at top speed. I thought I was getting some pretty pictures, but once he was off the deck and into the yard, the little dude was scaring me.
Fortunately, Xena doesn’t want to lose the little goober back to the wild any more than I do – she’s grown quite fond of him. So she followed him and headed him off at the pass, as it were.
Xena patiently plodded around in the snow and messed with her ice-cold bone until Oberon finally came back to the house.
Here are a couple of shots of the woods near the house. I’m sure Obi wouldn’t have wanted to stay out there in the cold:
I’m glad he decided to come home!
