Silly fillies x 2.

Quick, how many horses can you spot in this photo? Look very closely. Both of these mares had babies this week, and now we’re up to our hips in silly fillies, which is just the way we like it. Be forewarned, clicking on the “more” link below will flood your screen with cuteness, because these little horses aren’t just cute, they’re almost full-on kawaii. (Also, be warned if you’re not on broadband, as there are nearly two megs of cute baby pictures within.)
First, “Whinny Horse” and her baby. This filly was born on Wednesday morning, and she’s already quite active and gregarious. Her mom proudly shows her off to the visiting mares at every opportunity – the pasture mares all press up against the panels that keep the babies in like wanna-be moms pressing their face up against the glass at the maternity ward.









And now for the other mare, “Emma,” with her filly, who wasn’t even a day old when these pictures were taken.








My horse, Sultry, loves the babies…

…and of course the babies love Auntie Sultry.

None of these cute babies belong to my wife and I; I just get to feed them and clean up after them. 😆 We only have one mare expecting this year, and she’s due in about a month.
